If you are serious about developing a career in the affiliate marketing industry, sooner or later you will have to define what success means to you. And then you will have to decide on the strategies that you will use to achieve your success.
For instance, if you decide that you would like to earn $60,000.00 in the coming year, try working backwards to clarify what you will have to do to achieve this. So, $60,000.00 divided by 12 is $5000.00 per month. And $5000.00 divided by 4 is $1250.00 per week. Now you can consider how much advertising you will have to invest in to make $1250.00 of sales per week.
In this example it is reasonably straight forward to see that to make $1250.00 per week in sales will require a well planned and funded marketing campaign. While it is true that you can derive a lot of exposure for your business with various methods that are free of cost, its probably also fair to say that you only get what you pay for. Please note that it may well be very possible to leverage the many free methods of marketing out there to achieve the figures mentioned above.
But its probably reasonable to say that if all of the free advertising methods out there worked perfectly, all businesses would be successful. In reality though, over 90% of businesses fail. In a recent survey by Entrepreneur Magazine, some interesting reasons for business failures were quoted as follows;
1.Lack of capitol
2.Lack of training
3.Lack of proven marketing / selling system.
So its reasonable to say that it will more than likely be a wise decision to set aside an amount of capitol to invest in strategically marketing your business. The good part about investing your money into advertising your business is that it can be claimed as an allowable deduction on your tax return.
But better still is that all of this strategically targeted marketing of your business will have the money tumbling into your bank account very quickly. You will see the results in your bottom line and it will set you apart from the amateurs and take your business operations to the next level.
Another sure fire way to obtain success in business is to find a mentor, an advisor or role model. You ideally need to find someone who is doing what you would like to be doing and copy them. Remember that imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Additionally, there are many mentors and advisors out there who are more than happy to show you their secrets in exchange for your testimonial. Is it also fair and reasonable to ask that if these people are really the worthwhile role models that they claim to be, then the more successful you become, the better they look right?!

What id Internet Marketing? We all use many other names to describe the same actions. Bottom line is, we want to sell whatever in order to make money. It reminds me of an advert for antiques. "We buy JUNK and sell ANTIQUES". Marketing is the ART of packaging our product and presenting it to a potential customer in such a way that they want to buy and will buy.
This means we need to know;
1) Our customers, their likes and dislikes. This information is invaluable as it is the KEY to successful Internet Marketing.
2) Source or create suitable products or services to suit our targeted markets. Remember that no one product will suit all customers.
3) Advertising RULE is the same. Your Ads must project an image which will suit your group audience. This means your Ads MUST be different in their appeal.
4) Another rule we need is FLEXIBILITY. By all means see what your competition is doing, but don't be a copy cat. Be creative in your presentations, this includes your PACKAGING of products as well as ADVERTISING. See if they are working and be prepared to Trash or Amend as the case may be.
Since there is a huge field of competition out there, the above paragraphs are not a ONE TIME do and I can sit back and become rich. To stay on top we must be like the champion athlete who trains every day. He eats drinks and sleeps his burning desire to stay ahead of the competition. Two words come to mind, Dedication and Commitment. You want to be a successful Marketer then apply these words to your Vision of being successful. It is a case of Review, Review, Review, and then Review again and revise if necessary.
Don't believe all the hype you read about getting rich quick. Nothing is free in this life! YES you can and will get rich provided you apply that four letter word; WORK. Those who got rich discovered this secret of dedication. Another word to describe dedication or commitment is Sacrifice. In other words "Short term PAIN for long term GAIN"
Listen up; I could go on about how to sculpt your Ads and how to set up sales pages. That is the easy part for there are many books and stuff on the Internet which deal more effectively than I can in this article.
Here is the deal, be a good manager. Do I mean your website? No, that is important but not so important as in Setting Goals and Time Management. You have a vision to get rich that is your major goal. However to reach there you need the where with all to be an achiever. Acquire the necessary knowledge, which means setting lesser goals and this is where managing you time comes in. Prepare yourself well before embarking on the venture of you life. This is where sacrifice comes in. Fewer nights out, less time spent in front of the TV. If you are a family person, you need to manage your time even more so.
Why do so many would be 'Get Rich" fall by the way side? Simple, they are not good managers. They lacked dedication and commitment with no real preparation. Perhaps too, a little gullible for believing you can be an "Arm Chair" million heir racking in the LOOT!

Affiliate Marketing - How to Scale Up Once You're Earning

Affiliate marketing or Online Brokering as I like to call it can earn one a full time income. Once we have earned our 1st $100, how do we scale up the earnings to $500, $1000, then $5000 a month? There are many ways to do so. Because I like to do Pay Per Click Marketing, I'm gonna share about this, and we're gonna use AdWords as an example.
Tips on how to scale up your Pay Per Click Marketing Earnings, Adwords style!
1. Use Tracking Code
If you don't intend to use tracking code, then PPC is not for you. You will most like spend $100 on AdWords, get burnt and run away screaming that PPC don't work. Top earners on the internet track everything they do. When I get forgetful and do not track, I have no idea what is making me money and what is losing me money. Setting up a tracking code requires a little hands on skill such as learning HTML, Getting Your Tracking Code, Pasting It Into Your Landing Pages, then studying the conversion percentages.
2. Increase Your Bids
Once you're making money, you may increase your bids so that the inactive keywords become active. This may require you to increase your bid price to $0.30. Generally, I don't bid more then $0.08 for my keywords and this is highly profitable for me. If your product is more then a $1000 somewhere in your sales funnel system, then you can bid $.50 to $0.80, which will put you at the top of the search ads for sure. With more exposure, track the earnings vs PPC expenditure. If you don't make more profits, then scale the bids back down again.
2. The Content Network, Fraud...or maybe not?
Some AdWords books and forums advice that we should switch off the content network option, which is Google's AdSense. These are ads placed on sites that have content complementing your Ad. Their reasons are this. No 1, the useless impressions affect the search position of the ads. No 2, You get bad traffic.
Lets look at No 1. The impressions you get from the content network or Google does not affect your Search Engine Ad placements. So if your CTR says 1.19%, it does not mean you lose your position in Search Engine search.
Now No 2. AdSense is well regulated and policed by Google. While you may experience clicks that are false, this is going to be a small percentage that will be negligible and Google will eventually catch up with AdSense publishers trying to fool the system. Google will refund any money you've spent for clicks originating from those sites. You will realise this on the day when tracking codes are installed that the content network is an amazing source of traffic that generates in leads and sales for "PENNIES".
Look at it this way, you will have the lion's share of the deer, while the vultures are taking the scraps in the beginning. The best is yet to come, in this case the Google police will be working to take back the scraps from the vultures and putting it back on your plate. And any good clicks that did originate from those sites are an added bonus!
3. Have Different Ads for different landing pages...
Having a landing pages corresponding to keywords that you're bidding on can help greatly in lowering AdWords cost for search. Because the entire message from Ad to landing page is focused and targeted for a specific keyword. However, if you're a lazy PPC marketer like me, I just have 1 landing page and 1 Ad that I use for 2859 keywords...and it still works well. That's because at the end of the day, I leverage the content network. So even if I don't qualify for the search network, the content network itself is a great asset, especially in certain niches that have a great number of AdSense publishers.
4. Craft a good ad that sets peoples mind frame on the right path the minute they click.
If we promise something, we must always deliver, and preferably over deliver. However, in the beginning we must sell the sizzle...because its the "sizzle that sells and not the cow, although the cow is important" (The cow is what brings back repeat business). In this case, an ad should indirectly infer what the ad is trying to say. For example, a Cow Ad reads,"This medication will cure gout pains". A Sizzle Ad will say,"Gout crippled my life, now I'm free from pain". Don't tell people what to do, let people infer and arrive the conclusions on their own. When people think about something, it stays in their heads, if its told to them, it passes in one ear and out the other...
With that shared, I hope it gives you more ideas to scale up your affiliate marketing earnings with Pay Per Click Marketing...There are probably lots more on this topic, we'll share more soon...

Three Things Affiliates Need to Succeed

Affiliate marketing isn't rocket science... it's just solid marketing practices combined with a little sweat and dedication. There is no magic bullet or super secret formula for becoming a super affiliate.
Having said that, there are some really great affiliate marketing strategies and tactics that will increase your sales and your revenue no matter what kind of affiliate product you're promoting. Take a look at these top three things that affiliates need to succeed online:
1. Use unique web pages to promote each product you are marketing.
You can't just lump all of your affiliate promotions into one centralized webpage... although some people try it. It just doesn't work. Each product you're promoting need to have it's own separate webpage. It may even need it's own website, depending on your affiliate marketing campaign.
In addition, affiliate marketing is much more effective if your website caters to just one particular niche-type topic, then you can promote and cross-promote several different affiliate products within your niche website.
The real point here is that you shouldn't try to be everything to everyone... focus on just one thing.
2. Offer free reports to your readers.
Free reports, ecourses, ebooks, etc. are a great way to promote affiliate products because they give you the opportunity to give your website visitors a lot of information about the products that you promote.
The point of free reports to promote affiliate products is to set up a repeating contact system that will eventually make a sale for you. According to research, prospects have to see something five to seven times before they will purchase it. Autoresponder series, e-courses, and free reports give affiliates the chance to make contact with prospects five to seven times and close the sale.
That doesn't mean that you should send your subscribers a bunch of sales materials... you've got to send them highly valuable information that's related to the products your promoting. When you've given them something of value and also recommended a great product to go along with your valuable information it's a killer affiliate marketing strategy.
3. Get highly targeted website visitors to see your affiliate product.
Highly targeted visitors are the ones that are most likely to be interested in your affiliate product... and the most likely to actually buy it too... so it makes sense that you want only highly targeted traffic to see your affiliate products.
There are lots of ways to gain highly targeted traffic to your website, but the most important thing to focus on is keywords.
